This section explains how to configure each CLI manually without AI Toolbox. Manual configuration is intended for users familiar with local environment variables, configuration files, and version differences between CLIs.

AI Toolbox recommended

To manage providers, models, and keys through a graphical interface, start with AI Toolbox. Manual configuration is an alternative.

Before you begin​

  1. Complete the environment check and confirm Node.js and npm work.
  2. Create and securely store an API key in the console.
  3. Record the exact model name shown in the Model Gallery.
